The Oxford University Psychology Society (PsychSoc) is a student run society for anyone who is interested in Psychology. We host talks, careers events and socials throughout the year.
Psychology plays an integral role in modern society. It can help explain why we think and act in certain ways, whether individually or as part of a group. In essence we are all amateur psychologists – constantly analysing ourselves and others. At this society, we aim to explore its application to everyday behaviours in a laid-back and friendly environment.
As a member, you will enjoy free access to all speaker and careers events. The great thing is that any student at Oxford University can join PsychSoc, regardless of their subject! It is an excellent way to meet people who share similar interests to you, and allows you to keep up to date with many important and interesting psychological issues. Talks are given by eminent speakers twice/three times a term on relevant and thought provoking topics. Moreover, for those considering psychology-related jobs, there are a number of careers events held throughout the year where careers advisors and speakers from many psychological professions can share their experience and expertise with you. On top of this, we host a number of social events a term, where you can relax, meet people and enjoy our free (or heavily subsidised) food and drink.
